Stacking It Up!

Covering the topics of both saving and budgeting, this workshop teaches students how to manage their money by building a strong foundation in everyday banking and budgeting. Participants will explore the Canadian financial system, compare chequeing and savings accounts, and learn how to track expenses and make smart financial decisions.

Credit Crunch

In this workshop, students explore the ins and outs of credit- what it is, how it works, and why it matters. From understanding credit cards and interest rates to learning how credit scores are calculated, participants gain practical knowledge to help them use credit wisely and avoid common pitfalls. This workshop breaks down essential terms and provides real-life examples to help students build strong, responsible credit habits early on.

TAXATION 101

This workshop covers the nitty gritty of taxes to make sure all youth feel comfortable completing their taxes once they have their first job. This includes demonstrating all the different sections of the return, the documents needed in order to provide accurate information (ex: T4), the steps included to submit a personal return, and what rebates are potentially applicable.

MAKING IT RAIN:

This workshop covers the basics of saving and spending to enable youth to make strategic decisions with their money and accomplish their financial goals. Topics covered include: the importance of saving, how to use a line of credit, and maintaining a personal budget. It also provides tools such as apps and online banking resources for future reference.
